The Antiquorum (Not pronounced the way you think)

Image
Yo, what up? Sorry for the long wait, my life's been kinda boring for a while, so... I'll start off by saying I've started writing a new book (I know, I know, I never finished Phoenix Rising, which I have now names Rise of the Phoenix, give me a break!), called The Antiquorum. xxx ^^ The link to the site where I'm posting it Also, I'm turning 13 IN A WEEK AND A DAY! AHHHH!!!!! And we move in July, which is only FOUR MONTHS AWAY!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Okay, I'm calm. Recently, I've downloaded an app called WriteOMeter. It's wonderful, and I've actually been writing whole chapters in a day. That's never happened before, believe it or not. Even better, the app was free! (To all you writers out there: GET IT OR I WILL GET IT FOR YOU!) (Ida Hunter's my pen name.)

Arua to Entebbe to Nairobi all for midterm.

Image
It's been a while since I last posted. Mainly because the most exciting thing that's happened recently is my cat having kittens. I'm on the plane as I write, flying from Entebbe to Nairobi to be with my sister over midterm break. Normally, we don't see her for midterm because it's only two days and she goes to school in a different country. But, this is her last one, as she graduates in July. Then, it's off to America,  never to return. Just kidding, I'll probably come back some day. I'll get to see my friend and fellow writer, Grace, also known as Grace~Z~Artist. I introduced her in an earlier post, titled, you guessed it, Grace~Z~Artist, in which she messed up my post beautifully by pushing random keys. Yes, Grace, I'm out for blood. -Sam Enjoy a view of Lake Victoria,  the second largest lake in the world, topped only by Lake Superior in the northern United States.

'The Store'

Image
I know what you're thinking. 'Oh, this post is just about her going to the store.' Hahahaha- no. This is more of... uh... amusing... stories... You know what, just read on. So, on Wednesdays, a bunch of missionary ladies in Arua have a Bible Study. Every Wednesday. And, about an hour before the ladies' study, the kids have their own Bible Study. A few months ago, it was decided that all the kids 11+ should have a separate study at a different house. We've been going through a series of videos by Rob Bell, and discussing them, answering questions, etc. Well, today's video, called 'Store', was about anger. This led to some rather interesting stories. See, one of hte questions was, have you ever gotten so angry that you said or did something you never thought you would ever do before then, or gotten so angry you broke something? Oh, yesss! Funny (and occasionally painful) stories for everyone! So, basically, one of the boys apparently put a hole in ...

Ahhhh!!!!

Aaaaahhhh!! One day left. One day left until NaNoWriMo. I'm panicking. ................................................................................................................................................................... Okay, so, maybe not that  much, but I'm still terrified. I have 30 days to write a 50k first draft. See, this is what I have Grace~Z~Artist for. Advice. And my mother and another friend. Cheering on. By the way, Grace's blog is  here.  (It opens in a new tab.) Check it out! Other than that, not much has happened. Well, other than people bickering over who buys various pieces of our furniture when we move out. Oh, yeah, we're moving out in July. Yay! Note the sarcasm. -Sam

What even...?

Okay, so, my friend and I had a photoshoot, because we're weird like that, and she put two of the pictures up on Facebook, tagging my dad. What she didn't know is that that would mean tagging my mother as well. So, now my mother has seen the fruits of a long hot day outside in the African sun. Oh, well. Do you have any idea how much time and how many e-mails it takes to send over 200 pictures to your friend? I'm uploading more as I type. ........... Someone's running a weed whacker, and it's driving me crazy. Help. Is it weird that I have a wedding board on Pinterest even though I'm only 12? Eh, whatever. It will stay there no matter what people think. And an official thanks to my friend Joanna for giving a bunch of notebooks (I had like, three before. Never a good thing what with all my ideas for novels). I actually have one of them next to me right now. Who knew a pink hardcover composition book would be so wonderful? Okay, honestly, I feel like I'...

Ramblings of a Twelve-Year-Old

Image
Sup, readers. Are there any readers? Well, I know I have one, my friend Jo. As of right now, I have a cold, my ankle hurts, it's a rainy day, and I'm hungry. And my dad's cooking steak, which makes me even hungrier. But, on the upside, it's a Saturday (which means no school), we're having STEAK for dinner, and I'm over halfway through Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. Aaaand, now I get to wait for my friend to post a link to a thread that we plan to chat on so we won't have 500 comments on one post of her blog. *sigh* We talk too much about random things  She's super hard to convince to join the older NaNoWriMo. I gave up after about three days. Scholastic, here we come! -Sam
